The Safe Transit of Your Acquisition At Object Theory, we treat the transit of our heritage pieces with the same reverence as their restoration. Because our collection consists of rare antiquities, heavy solid wood furniture, and fragile earthen art, standard shipping methods do not apply. Every piece requires custom packing to ensure it arrives at your space exactly as it left our studio.

Packaging & Custom Crating

  • Small to Medium Objects: Items such as our Naga Kamandals, Stone Pots, and smaller decor are securely wrapped in high-impact protective layers and dispatched via our trusted premium courier partners.

  • Large Furniture & Fragile Artifacts: Heavy architectural pieces, consoles, and large urns (such as the Dragon Urns or Mefhil-e-Bar) require custom-built wooden crates. This "museum-grade" packing prevents structural stress and protects delicate surface finishes like Gond art or vintage patina during transit.

Dispatch & Transit Timelines

  • Standard Dispatch: Please allow 3 to 5 business days for smaller objects to be carefully packed and dispatched from our studio.

  • Crated Freight: For large furniture pieces, please allow 7 to 10 business days for dispatch, as custom crates are built to the exact dimensions of your specific piece.

  • Transit Time: Once dispatched, delivery across India typically takes between 5 to 10 business days, depending on your pin code and the accessibility of your location by our heavy-freight partners.

Shipping Rates & Bespoke Freight

  • Standard Items: Shipping costs for standard-sized pieces are calculated transparently at checkout.

  • High-Value & Oversized Pieces: Items marked as Price on Request or requiring special handling will not have a standard shipping fee at checkout. Upon your inquiry, our studio will calculate a bespoke, fully-insured freight quote based on the specific piece and your delivery address.

Receiving Your Piece For crated deliveries, please ensure that you or an authorized representative is present to receive the shipment. We kindly request that you inspect the external crating or packaging for any visible signs of transit damage before signing the delivery receipt. In the highly unlikely event that a piece is damaged in transit, please document the packaging with photographs and contact the studio within 24 hours at hello@objecttheory.in.
